An ‘Aladdins Cave’ of giftware

For Burn Candles and Gifts owner Angeline Dunne beautiful candles are a little bit of an obsession. In fact, the Nambour businesswoman has even created her own label.

“I absolutely love the ambience that candles create,” she said. “They make a space feel so peaceful and tranquil and they tend to be a wonderful gentle trigger for all sorts of memories.”

Angeline opened her gift shop four years ago and in that time, it has become a treasure trove of beautiful things. “A lot of my customers call it Aladdin’s Cave,” she said. “You can easily lose an hour in here, exploring.”

Over the years Angeline has added to her range, with candles from other labels. “I am limited by time, when it comes to making candles and I had actually planned to phase my own label out because I have sourced gorgeous candles from other suppliers,” she said. “But that caused a bit of an uproar with my regular customers, so I have kept my own label in stock.”

In addition, Angeline now stocks fabulous giftware which makes gift buying easy.  “I wanted to pretty much create a one stop shop for unique giftware.”

Burn Candles and Gifts stocks all kinds of beautiful smelling products to satisfy the senses, from candles to bath bombs, reed diffusers and essential oils and soaps. As well, there are Australian themed Maxwell and Williams cups, plates, tea towels and tea pots. “People really love these products,” Angeline said. “They are such high quality and the Australian designs are just stunning.”

There is a wide array of water bottles, glassware, martini and cocktail glasses, cheese platters, garden ornaments, greeting and inspirational cards, napkins, sox and oven mitts.

With Christmas well and truly on it’s way, there are beautiful and unique Christmas decorations, Palas charms and jewellery, chocolates and fudges.

“When I first opened Burn Candles and Gifts, I aimed to create a space where people could walk in and feel welcome and peaceful,” said Angeline. It’s fair to say, she has done that.
